[Feature] Different squad vote system
Instead having to be available on vote, make it so you can have preferences.
This way each player can set a marker for favorite squads (1,2,3,4,5) and the RNG system does the rest.
In addition there could be a setting to allow auto-preferences. This way you would only need to open the game once it starts.

Support FriendSo I think the ideal would be at the start you have all the people on your team in a large group, obviously commander is auto set to castle guard, but then that squad pops up in middle and the entire pool of the team can hands up to join each squad individually. If there are more hands raised than slots it could do the rng picking that it does now between those with hands raised, or do a first come first served style. After the first squad is filled it goes to the top middle of the screen and squad 2 takes the center middle spot and the process is repeated.
As it is now if someone that wants to be assault ends up getting on a squad set to defense they just do their own thing anyway. This way you'd have a higher chance of defenders that want to defend, or squads that maybe want to stick together.
I just thought about how to handle pre-made parties. Perhaps only the party leader gets to cast the hands up but it's weighted heavier than solos since they might be more coordinated. -

Ash MergedCurrently, if you want to play defense there’s no way to raise your hand to sign up unless you are in the squad with the commander/sign up to be commander. Also if you want to do a particular role but others in your squad want something else, you get assigned along with them to something you don’t want to do.
To fix this, allow people to queue as defense, offense, or special team, and let the matchmaker create squads out of people who all want to do a particular role before the match begins.
Also it’d be good if people could queue with their preferred class and backup class so the matchmaker could balance it that way, too (ie no teams/squads with zero clerics). -

Chris MergedPlayers volunteer individually for mission then are squaded up by group. For example: 4 players individually volunteer for defense, it then squads those specific players together since they all want to do the same job.

Excidius MergedWhen you enter the vote system for what role your team will fill, why have the team vote instead of 20 individual players (group queued players being the only exception to this), that way more players get to play what they want to instead of 1-2 people determining what 4 solo queued people will do.

GalaxiaIdeally why should we decide team tactics then volunteer for roles? I've seen games where the majority vote for offensive tactic but when it comes to squad role volunteer, none raise for assault squads. Why just not let players vote for the squad role then match with the most fulfilling tactic and assign squad role according to the vote.

Choose Squad role preference
The matching logic is simple, for each role less then players who want that role, that tactic get 1 mark, the tactic with least mark will be chosen. In case with equal marks, tactic will be chosen in random.
Example1
12 vote assault, 8 vote special ops
offensive tactic got 4 marks for offering 4 special ops instead of 8
balanced 4 marks for assault, 4 marks special ops, 8 marks total
defensive 8 marks for assault
Offensive tactic will be chosen and 4 players voting for special ops will be assigned to castle guard

TheVirus Mergedhello, I would like to enlighten you on a problem with the groups.
it is common to see that the role assigned to each group is often not respected (defense, attack, core)
if during the choice of roles, 1 person raises their hand, all the group will be for example defense, but does everyone want to be in defense? no and have this finds itself with a defenseless base and it is lost.
would it not be possible to modify the mechanics of the groups and that they are created on the screen where one chooses defensive, mixed or offensive?
It becomes annoying to lose when the base is not defended and the defense team finds itself on the attack.
