[Feature] Incentivize Following Commander Orders
Consider providing a small flat Valor point gain, or temporary Valor % increase when players follow the directions/orders of their commander. Chat (text and voice) have been recommended elsewhere, and this may serve a similar function.

TaccoSupremeAgree there needs to be more incentive to run the role you are given

konvay MergedA commander could receive points for issuing objective/targets when members of the commanded squad successfully complete objectives in the area.
This allows a commander to effectively command and keep up on pace with battle needs while defending and shows their efforts by having a score reflecting their command prowess and not just their combat/building.
Potentially provide incentives for squads who follow the command as well to provide additional valor. -

Aerosfilis MergedAs it is, people just go around doing whatever they wish to do in a very uncoordinated way a lot of the time.
My suggestion would be to make it so people gain points when playing objectives marked for their team by their commander, and commanders gain point when people play objectives marked for them.
As an example, Battlefield has something similar but per squads instead. So a squad leader could decide on an objective and squads would get extra points for playing said objective and the squad leader would also get points as people from their squad played said objectives the leader marked. In their case, squad members could also ask for an objective to be marked when there were none and gain the leader position if the leader didn't acted after a set time and numbers of demands for objectives. Maybe do the same and remove auto objective.
The aim would be to encourage better strategy and squad play while not necessarily penalizing people who don't (it's just bonus points, not a malus). -

Rupert MergedCommanders of the Army should have some bonuses on Experience and Valor point in game, to make more real people to queue as commanders. Maybe Like double the division point ganied and lost on the game, and get bonus Valor for each squad that follow orders.
To compesate, maybe Commanders will give double normal valor point when they are killed.
To follow this, also squads should have more valor bonuses to follow Commander order.
Unless of that, most of the games will have Bots as Commanders. -

PiEye MergedFor the moment, the squads are dispersed and do not follow the orders of the commander. He therefore loses the desire to give relevant orders more than that does not earn him points. Perhaps it would be necessary to value the involvement of the commander and reward the people who follow his orders in order to push the players to evolve according to an established strategy.

Excidius MergedA lot of the time winning and losing comes down to if players work together and/or listen to the commander.
I play commander a lot and I have to say 80% of losses are a bunch of people doing their own thing and not listening to commands making the commanders job even more stressful and gives a sense of "why bother issuing orders at all".
It would be nice to see some (small that will add up) valor reward for people actually carrying out commander orders, this way people are more likely to do so.
I also think the commander is a bit too simplistic, I need to be able to issue orders to groups not just issue a singular order because I do not need 20 people to go to 1 tower. I need to be able to set up offense and defense at the same time.
When the commander dies, you have a 5-10 second window where you cannot open the map or issue orders, this is also really bad, we need to be able to participate in combat to get valor too and sometimes that means dying. -

GunthaaIf valor is the reward for following orders then there will be an optimal strategy for farming the highest amount of valor early on by placing specific commander markers. This WILL be played so players can rotate between their T5 characters as soon as possible - they are the current meta.
And once everyone has T5 valor it no longer retains any value.
But the real problem is that this idea puts all the responsibility on the commander to play this farming game right with their orders.
Whichever commander allows his team to farm valor more efficiently with the orders will be extraordinarily likely to also win the match through this time window where their team alone has T5 characters.
And the other commander will take all the blame for creating this T0 vs. T5 scenario through his inefficiency.
The incentive to follow and place orders has to be separate from valor. -

Anntidotecould also add a debuff or a reduction to points if not following commands or just plain out doing the wrong thing I.E a defender/assault sitting on the catapult blocking the special ops from getting there points or have a defending squad on the enemy core neglecting there own core

Krezen Ralfador+1. Also please makes it so that commanding the army is less irritating by stop resetting the squad's orders placed everytime the objective situation changes (e.g. an attack squad told to capture a tower and succeed have their order reset and automitcally placed on the enemy's core), which forces the commander to re-command the squad's mission to a desired objective and play wack-a-mole instead of actual strategizing.

ExcidiusThe issue with rewarding valor for commander orders is as I have said in the other post about commander changes, players will abuse it and issue these orders right before they capture a tower for themself and/or their group (as an example) this means they will boost their own valor.
If a system can be abused to gain an advantage you can guarantee there are people that will abuse it and then it will come down to everyone wants to be commander to abuse it because why not and the whole purpose of being a commander changes to personal gain rather than fulfilling a role to help the team win, this makes changes like this counter productive.
I don't know the answer to making people follow commander orders but this is not it. -

JeffreyI think this proposal is important,if you have to consider personal interests and team interests, then the commander is meaningless. And not every game can get the command, the person who draws the commander may not necessarily be able to command, but this game must be won by teamwork, so there must be a reward system.
In addition, I have some suggestions that need to be improved.
1.Troop icons on the map can be plural choice, reduce deployment time.
2.When the AI completes the commander's order, occupies the spiritual tower or completes the construction of the siege weapon, it will automatically look for nearby enemies to fight until the commander gives the next order, instead of stand still. -

ZephanDragon MergedSo after being assigned commander in my first game (without having commander queue enabled) I have come to realize the lack of incentive to actually listen to a good commander. I have seen no bonus points for completing commander set objectives. No points to the commander for objectives being completed. No additional commander rewards at the end of the match for taking on the role.
Anything small would work. Like an extra 50 silver (I don't know the name for the currency) for completing a commander set objective or 100 score for everyone of the assigned squad to the task would be great! Maybe 20% bonus points for getting kills/receiving points at/near an objective?
For commander rewards maybe they get a reward? After all they took the time to open the map to direct them! I don't want to incur penalties for players who don't listen as that always feels like a bad experience. (who knows maybe the dev team have a commander class waiting to be implemented with all of these planed o -

Graveyard Jones MergedMaybe increased Valor gain for playing your objectives for your squad
On defense, you gain more Valor by staying close to the keep, fending off attacks, building and rebuilding
Assault gains more for kills in a short amount of time, object destruction, keep breeches, amount of core damage
Spec ops, increased for towers captured in succession, seige weapons built or taken, maybe even more for back capping to cut off enemy progression
Basically anything to incentivise people to play their role. Too many games end because all of the defense squads are out on the field leaving it wide open for a single squad to take down your core. Or at least a disincentive to abandoning your role -
