[Feature] Increased squad-role valor (or something similar)
Bonus to valor for:
Castle defense:
Building siege weapons +5 progress, +25 completion
Rebuilding gates +5 progress +35 completion
Game end:
+1 point per % core hp remaining
+2 points per defensive siege weapon remaining (and built)
+5 points per gate built
-20 points for wooden wall
-50 points for stone walls
Special Ops:
Building catapult +2 progress, +10 completion
+2 per enemy tower progress +15 enemy tower cleared
+5 capturing tower +35 tower claimed
Game end:
+35 per tower held
-15 per enemy tower held
+5 per minute catapult controlled
-3 per minute catapult controlled by enemy
Assault squad:
Building siege tower/ram +5 progress +35 completion
Moving tower/ram +10 progress +25 breaking gates
+15 when gate gets below 50%
+5 kill on player building gate/ defensive siege weapon
+20 when wooden wall destroyed
+50 when stone wall destroyed
+10 when defensive siege weapon destroyed
Game end:
+1 per % enemy core destroyed
+5 gate currently destroyed
+5 def siege platform destroyed

Guru MergedThere is a similar request in here regarding the actual defense siege weapons, but I would like to also add my 2 cents that as of right now the incentive to pick defense is very low due to how the scoring works for character progress. You get far more xp and thus progress more ing offensive even if you are assigned to defense squad. I personally would like to see more incentives beyond building and protecting core (which is out the window once even a single hit is landed by the opponent). I think that a nice balance would be either to give bonus points for killing enemies within a certain distance of the core (in the same vein as offense squad getting points simply for running into the base). Another option would be to award points just simply for being near the keep over time and not exclusively relying on core never being touched. Last option I can think would be to just increase the xp gain from building siege weapons and only awarding points for building if you are on defense.

TonkatunkGonna suggest some additional incentives.
Defense
+2 or 3 points for enemies killed within outer walls.
End Game
-1 point for each enemy within walls at the end
Spec Ops
+ points for wooden outpost destroyed. That's the spots the ballista and pots sit on. Reason for spec ops, because they're the ones encouraged to do catapults
Most the other stuff I'm either in favor of or impartial to.
While not Valor. I feel adding buffs or boons based on the role would help a lot too. +20% build speed for Defense, +15% capture speed on Spec Ops, and +20% Object Damage to Assault. These are just examples though. -
